Welcome to my blog!
I’m Tasha Lizabeth, a young professional who lives and works in the Washington Metropolitan Area.
Currently, I’m going through the hell that is called wedding planning, and started this blog in the hopes to connect with, entertain, inspire, and comfort other brides out there. Wedding planning can be great, but it’s also incredibly frustrating and stressful, especially for young couples that are stuck footing the bill themselves. The media and social outlets such as Facebook and Pinterest have made it easier than ever to find fun ideas and get inspired, but have also upped the pressure to plan a perfect, elaborate, and expensive wedding all while wearing a Stepford-wife smile.
Well, this blog is my response to that false image that our culture perpetuates. If you’re dying to let your hair down, say “screw that perfect persona,” and have an honest, candid conversation about the reality of wedding planning, then this is the place for you. I hope that you find my satirical take on the wedding experience helpful and entertaining, and at the very least, take comfort in the fact that someone else out there is just as (or more) miserable as you during what many people say should be “the happiest time of your life.”
I’ll be happy on my wedding day and honeymoon. Getting there, however, sure does suck.
