The holidays have came and went, and if you’re lucky like I am, you had the opportunity to spend some time among family and friends counting your blessings. At the Hunt household, our Christmases typically go something like a sequel to “A Christmas Vacation,” and as long as our own Clark Griswold doesn’t end up in the snow replacing the Christmas tree at 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve, we consider the holidays to be a success.
This year was no different, but on the days leading up to the New Year, my sister Amber’s boyfriend Joel surprised her with an impromptu trip to the Outer Banks, North Carolina, where he finally got down on one knee and popped the question.
AND NO SURPRISE, SHE SAID YES!
So this weekend Amber and I will return to the Baltimore Bridal Show, but this time I’ll be passing the veil to her and trying my best to help her plan the wedding of her dreams.
If you don’t know Amber or Joel, I’ll fill you in: they’re total beach loving, adrenaline junkie goofballs, and they’re hoping to celebrate their wedding on the shores of the Outer Banks where Amber and I have vacationed as a family every year since we were toddlers. Right now, it looks like their big day will be sometime in spring 2015, and thank God, because if I don’t get at least a tiny break from this wedding stuff I’m going to become the jolliest asshole this side of the nuthouse about six months too early.
So look for another post from me soon featuring our best finds of the show, and then another one catching ya’ll up on my wedding planning escapades. But before I sign off, here are some more photos of the happy couple over their six year courtship.
